Introducing Ethan!

Howdy! My name is Ethan and I’m really excited to say that I am beginning my term as an educator at Wild Roots Nature Center. Serving at Wild Roots through AmeriCorps seemed to me to be the way I could do the single most good in the community in the shortest amount of time, and now even after just a month here I can already tell that this is a great place with even better people supporting it, and I’m

super grateful to be even a small part of it.

Last year, I received my B.S. in Evolution and Ecology from The Ohio State University (O-H!). During my studies, I got to work and volunteer at the research collection at OSU’s Museum of Biological Diversity. While there, I was tasked with identifying and studying native Ohio fish species to catalogue and organize into the collection. I realized there that I love taxonomy and museum work and hope to one

day work in a natural history museum.

Before coming to Wild Roots, I also worked at an antique mall in Columbus, Ohio, where I gained a curiosity for all things antiquing and thrifting. When I’m not at Wild Roots, you can find me on a hike, listening to music, (probably The Beatles), playing my guitar, (definitely The Beatles), armchair-coaching the Reds and Bengals, or rewatching a Star Wars movie for approximately the one-millionth time.

Along with all of that, I’ve always loved nature and studying the environment, and I’m so excited to share that love with everyone here. If and when you see me, please don’t be a stranger! I look forward to meeting all of you. Happy trails!
